Driving The Connemara Loop: When you get back on the N59 from The Connemara Hostel turn right and drive a couple of kms - the landscape is spectacular here. Ideally you want a few clouds passing you by almost like magic carpets..

Al Salrock Cross (2.5kms from the hostel) turn right for Renvyle. You'll soon pass by - hidden in the trees overlooking Lough Fee and Lough Muck the lodge owned by Oscar Wilde's father William Wilde in the mid 1800s. Oscar himself holidayed here in the 1870s while a student. A few kms further and you'll come to must see beaches at Glassilaun and Lettergesh....a little touch of turquoise Greek waters off the coast of Ireland. Tip: Lettergesh can't be walked at high tide - so try to time for low tide (we have the tidal times at the desk) - but if not possible Glassilaun is accessible at high tide also..

Drive on and stop for some delicious seafood at Paddy Coynes Pub in Tullycross - home of the annual Connemara Mussel Festival every May Bank Holiday.
