Visitors come from England, America and all over Europe - supplementing a substantial local and national audience. Live performances take place nightly, in venues around the city, and musicians parade through the streets and along the 700-year-old medieval city wall on the Saturday of the festival. Dancing, costumes 
and street performances provide visual stimulation to match the music.
