Where is The Connemara Hostel  located? The Connemara Hostel is situated 6km (under 4 miles) from the village of Leenane.

How far is it from Galway? It is 60km (40 miles) from Galway city.

If I don’t have my own transport, how can I get to Sleepzone?

• Galway Tour Company offers a daily Jump On / Jump Off guided bus tour from Sleepzone Galway City to Sleepzone Connemara - discounted tickets available at Reception at Sleepzone Galway City. The tour departs from Sleepzone Galway City daily at 9.45am, dropping off / collecting at The Connemara Hostel at about 2.00pm, returning to Galway City at about 6.00pm.

• Bus Eireann offers a daily service in summer ands twice weekly in winter (www.buseireann.ie) which passes through the village of Leenane - see Galway to Clifden timetable.

What do I need to bring with me to check-in? We require that all guests checking-in bring a piece of Photo Identification (ID) with them. Unfortunately we are unable to check in any guest without ID.

What time can I check-in? Reception is Open:
From 9.00am to 12.00 noon
From 6.00pm to 10.00pm

If you will arrive outside of the above times please ring the hostel in advance on 00353(0)95 429 29.

What time is check-out? We ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10:00am.

Is it possible to check-out later than 10:00? Check at reception the night before but in order for us to maintain our high standards of cleanliness and to ensure that all rooms are ready by 3.00pm for check-in, it is often not possible to extend the check-out time beyond 10:00am.

Where can we leave our luggage? Our guests are welcome to leave their luggage in our luggage room free of charge while on day trips or even just prior to check-in.

Is there a curfew? There is no curfew; the main door is open all night. Our night Receptionist is on duty until 10.00pm in winter and 2:30am in summer

Do we need to bring our own bed linen? We provide clean bed linen for all of our guests, changed daily prior to check-in. For guests staying for longer periods, bed linen is changed every 3 days.

Are bath towels provided? Towels can be rented from reception for a €1.00 charge.

Are there laundry facilities? Yes, the on-site laundry facilities are just €4.00 for one wash token and €3.00 for one dry token.

Is there an ATM / cash point nearby? Unfortunately at present there is no cash point in Leenane. The nearest facility is at Letterfrack.

Is there internet access? We offer FREE internet access to our guests while staying at Sleepzone. We also offer free WiFi access for guests who wish to use their laptops. Please note that there are no printing facilities on site.

Is it possible to book tours at The Connemara Hostel? We sell tour tickets for Killary Cruises, Aran Islands, and The Burren at Reception.

Can I rent tennis rackets? Tennis rackets are free of charge.

Do you have a bar? We have a residents' bar. Bar hours are 7:30pm to 11:30pm. We serve wine, soft drinks and snacks.

Do you sell food?  We recommend that all guests buy groceries before coming to the hostel. Hamilton’s and Gaynor’s pubs in Leenane have a grocery store.

Do you serve breakfast? We do not serve breakfast, however tea and coffee are available free of charge, and guests can use the self-catering kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Where do the tour buses leave from? Most of the tour buses depart from the top of the road, 1 mile from the hostel. This is approximately a 15 minute walk from the hostel. The Galway Tour Company will pick you up at the hostel if you request that staff contact the driver in advance.

Where can I park? We have our own parking in front of Sleepzone.

How safe is the hostel? The Connemara Hostel is very safe. The Connemara Hostel has staff available to help guests should any problems arise. The safety and security of our guests is our top priority.
