St. Patrick's Festival Galway

March 13th-17th 2010 - 2010 marks the 107th anniversary of the Galway St Patrick's Day Parade. Pipe bands, dance groups and performance artists come from all over the world to Galway each year to experience a parade that is widely regarded as one of the best in Ireland. The Parade will be the finale of a series of events in Galway City beginning on Saturday, 13th March. There will be theatre performances, street events, art installations and music concerts to celebrate the national holiday and the Briton who brought Christianity to Ireland.

Jigsaw Galway Charity Cycle

Saturday, April 10th 2010 - Jigsaw Galway is the first of its kind in the country and is based on best practice worldwide. It is a charitable organisation with an emphasis on supporting young people (15 – 25 year olds) around their mental health needs and in particular young people with emerging mental & emotional health difficulties. Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people aged 15 – 25 years. The emphasis in Jigsaw is on intervening early and stopping problems escalating – i.e. “a stitch in time saves nine”.

Cúirt International Festival of Literature 2010

April 20th - 25th 2010. The Cúirt International Festival of Literature is Ireland’s premier literary event. The festival annually brings approximately sixty authors of local, national and international repute to Galway for readings, workshops, discussions, book signings and much, much more.

Galway Early Music Festival 2010
